I Wuv You

I finally feel like I’m back to the land of the living. Last Wednesday I came down with a bout of stomach flu. I had the regular flu last month, but it was nothing compared to these three days of pure hell. During the three days while I laid in bed wishing I was dead, I pawned my poor child off to anyone who would take care of her. Lindsey, Dan, Mimi, and Gramy and Papa cared for her while I recovered. I even heard that Preacher Kevin stopped by while Lindsey was here to blow some bubbles with Brittain!

It was a wonderful feeling when I was able take care of Brittain again. I couldn’t believe how much I had missed our daily routine and just being able to spend time with her. The day that I felt better, I was working in the afternoon rather than the morning. After we spent some time watching her favorite morning shows, we went to the kitchen for breakfast. As Brittain was eating, I unloaded the dishwasher and straightened the kitchen. I was talking to her, telling her how much I had missed her, how proud I was of her, and how happy I was to be feeling better and spending time with her. I finished what I was saying, and almost on cue Brittain said, “I wuv you.” It was the first time these three words had come out of her mouth. My heart melted and I felt that swell in my heart as I looked at my now 21 month old. I was reminded yet again that there’s no happiness like this.
