Meadowlark Gardens

Category: Personal | Comments (0) | Valerie @ April 19th, 2008

At work, we recently started working on a website for Meadowlark Gardens. I’m ashamed to say that before we began the project, I had hardly any knowledge that this place even existed. One Saturday when Mimi and Aunt Susan came over, the weather was beautiful so I figured it was a perfect day to go and look at the gardens and walk around. I had no idea how beautiful this place was! We went and spent plenty of time running around and enjoying the beautiful scenery around us. I appreciate Jay for allowing us to come out there. We had a wonderful time.

Before we left the house, I caught a few cute pictures of Aunt Susan and Brittain having their usual fun:

pizza night

Category: Personal | Comments (0) | Valerie @ April 18th, 2008

We’ve made quite a habit of going to Gramy and Papa’s house on Friday nights for pizza night. Papa, at least in our opinion, has perfected his homemade pizza recipe. We aren’t ashamed to invite ourselves over!

We switched it up last Friday night and decided to invite them to our house. No, we didn’t do the homemade pizza thing, but we did order in Slices. It didn’t compare, but we didn’t expect that it would.

We still enjoyed the company of each other, and that’s the best part of Friday night pizza night anyway.

Because Dan had the day off, I spent the whole day at work. I guess Brittain was glad to see me when I finally got home because she would hardly leave my side. While we were sitting there I started taking some self-portraits. I took about 10. After I took the first one she continued to say, “take another one” so I would do it again. The funny part was that every time I would get ready to snap the picture, she would smile and also close her eyes in anticipation of the flash going off. Every single shot I got that night of us pretty much looked exactly the same:

surprise visit

Category: Personal | Comments (0) | Valerie @ April 17th, 2008

A visit from Cecilia is always wonderful, but a few days ago she surprised us with a visit in the middle of the week! Matt was out of town on business, so Cec decided to come to Griffin to spend-the-night. We all loved having her here, but Brittain was definitely the most excited of us all. Brittain is in awe of her Aunt CC, and when Cecilia is around, it’s as if no one else exists.

The two of them were so busy, I could hardly keep up with them to be able to take any pictures. I did manage to get these shots. Cecilia brought pizza for all of us for dinner, and Brittain decided that she wanted to eat hers in her tent…and wanted Cecilia to eat in there with her. Of course Cecilia didn’t turn her down. They were in there for about 45 minutes eating pizza and drinking coke (yes, I let her drink the coke)…and loving life.
