The Rock Ranch (10.3.09 and 10.10.09)

As the saga of looking-for-fun-things-to-do-to-keep-my-child-occupied-and-happy continues I remembered a place that Jenny Parker told me about not long ago. The Rock Ranch. Or as I like to call it, “this great place that doesn’t overcharge you to get in.” The first time we went was just the 3 of us and we had a blast! We had just about as much fun as we could stand. We made it through the corn maze (where Dan’s arms almost fell off after having to push a stroller over lots and lots of corn stalks), went cane pole fishing, and made it as far as the dock for paddle boating. We couldn’t have asked for a better day.

Having that much fun only means one thing. We’ve got to go back so we can share the fun with other people we love. We planned another Rock Ranch outing with Mimi and Aunt SuSu. Despite the threat of rain, we braved the weather only to find that there really was no reason to worry for rain at all. We realized shortly after arriving that the only concern we needed to have regarding the weather was whether or not we were all going to fall over from heat exhaustion. Somehow we survived.

One of the highlights of the day was when Truett Cathy himself drove up in his golf cart to where Brittain was standing and handed her a CFA stuffed cow. Did I have my camera with me? Yes! Did I take a picture with it? Hell no! Am I an idiot? Hell yes!
