Dan and I have both done our best to make it so that Brittain doesn’t feel like she is taking a backseat to the new baby. But as we’ve tried to plan outings taking just her without Coleman she quickly informs us that she would rather go out as a family, and that includes bringing Coleman with us.
We took advantage of Dan having the day off by going to the park and having a picnic. It was a wonderful day until Brittain stepped on a stick and it barely brushed up against her leg. But that’s neither here nor there…
After many requests on facebook and email saying, “I want to see the baby!” I finally woke up and thought, “ok. Let me share my precious baby with everyone else, too.”
It’s amazing how much you can forget after just 4 1/2 years. When it came time to have this baby I found myself asking questions to my doctor about things I should have remembered from the first time around. One of my main questions was how long I would have to stay in the hospital. Coordinating everything this time was so much different than the first because I had another child to think about. When I asked Dr. Dunaway this question his answer was funny. He said, “you can stay anywhere from 2 to 4 days. First time moms choose 2, second time moms choose 4.” While I really thought I might want to take him up on the 4 day offer, when day 2 rolled around I was ready to be in my own house and in my own bed. On March 12th Dan and I arrived home with the newest member of the Gill household and we were greeted by excited family members…and better yet, a clean house!
